Tonga’s AFL team the "Tonga Thunder” were thrashed by South Africa 82 – 17 in the International Cup (AFL world cup) in Melbourne, Australia yesterday, 13 August.

The loss is an anti-climax to Tonga Thunder’s huge win over India (172 – 6) in its opener two days ago.

Tonga’s Women’s team the “Tonga Storm” suffered a similar fate at the hands of Ireland, outmatched 63 – 8 yesterday.
