Students at the Hilliard Memorial School of the Seventh Day Adventist Church today put on colourful cultural dances at Pahu.
Katalina Matui, the principal, said the special event was to mark its Science and Tonga Culture and Creative Day.
“We decided what better way for our students to learn more about the subjects they are learning like the Tongan culture, than by performing our own cultural dances,” she said.
Dances included the Tau’olunga, Ma’ulu’ulu, Lakalaka, Kailao, Mako, Hiko and Soke.
The school located at Pahu in Nuku‘alofa, has over 300 students from Class 1 up to Form 2 level.
