A search and rescue operation is underway to find three fishermen from Nomuka, Ha'apai who have been missing since Wednesday, 30 July.
The Police Commissioner Grant O'Fee said the missing men are a father in his 50’s, his son and son-in-law who are both in their late 20’s.
The men are believed to have left early morning Wednesday heading east from Nomuka on a 20-ft boat, although the exact location has not yet been confirmed, he said.
A search was carried out by local fishing boats on the outer islands near Nomuka but to date nothing has been found.
His Majesty’s Armed Forces navy vessel has now taken up the search and rescue operation.
