The Public Servants Association ended negotiation talks with a Cabinet Sub Committee yesterday Thursday, by rejecting a new offer for a 10%, 20% and 30% pay rise.
Mele ...Amanaki, Vice Secretary of the Public Servants Association Interim Committee confirmed that they rejected a 10% increase for Level 2-5, and 20% for Level 6-10 and 30% for Level 11-14A.
Government has made two previous offers to the striking civil servants, the first on July 29 when they offered a 12.5% salary rise across the board, and again on August 1 for 20%, 15% and 10% pay rises.
Mele said that starting today Friday, the PSA Interim Committee was stepping up its national strike action. Vaiola Hospital health workers join the strike this afternoon and a mass march to the King is planned for Monday August 8.
Mele said that striking civil servants "are still standing firm" for the 60, 70 and 80% pay rises.
