PM opens new Joe's Kahana [1]

Joe's Kahana Resort and Restaurant, 17 May

A new Joe's Kahana Resort and Restaurant was officially opened by the Prime Minister, Lord Tu'ivakano on Saturday 17 May.

The location is the former Kahana Resort on the shores of the Fanga'uta Lagoon in Nuku'alofa.

Maliu Mafi, a spokesperson for the new management of the property said that the new restaurant would be in operation immediately.

The accommodation consisting of five self-contained units would be ready at the end of May.

Maliu said that the refurbishing of Kahana started early this year after Ming Sen Tsai, a local businessman struck a business agreement with the family of the late Joe Tu'ilatai Mataele. Ming Sen Tsai has taken over the management and the running of the property.
