MS Queen Victoria calls into Nuku’alofa [1]

The MS Queen Victoria cruise ship docked at Vuna Wharf in Nuku’alofa today,with over 2700 people on board.
Latu Lui the Operations Manager for Pacific Forum Line (Tonga), said the cruise ship arrived from Auckland with 1800 plus passengers and over 900 crew.
He said this was the second time the cruise ship had visited Tonga since it first came in 2009. It departed this afternoon for American Samoa enroute to Hawaii.
Meanwhile, Nuku'alofa's central business district was unusually busy as passengers who were mainly from the United Kingdom were seen visiting Talamahu Market, shops and cafes.
The MS Queen Victoria is a luxury liner of the Cunard Line, a British-American owned shipping company based in Southampton, England.
The Ministry of Commerce, Tourism and Labour expects 16 cruise ships to visit Tonga this year.
