King opens Ha'apai Agriculture Show [1]

King Tupou VI opened the Royal Agriculture, Fisheries and Tonga-Made Show at Lea’aetohi grounds in Pangai, Ha’apai on Tuesday, July 18 where abundant food crops, seafood, fish and fine woven handicrafts were displayed.
The show is a popular annual event which encourages and promotes the development of the agriculture and fisheries sector, working together with farmers and fishermen for food sustainability, livestock farming, handicrafts and local food production.
The King accompanied by Queen Nanasipau’u travelled to Ha'apai after opening the Vava’u show on 7 July, in Neiafu the Niuatoputapu show on 12 July and Niuafo’ou on 13 July.
The king will open in 'Eua Show this Saturday July 22, before the event organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Forests and Fisheries, concludes with the largest show in Tongatapu on 29 July.
