FWC presents gifts to King Tupou VI [1]

The Free Wesleyan Church of Tonga made their presentation of gifts to HM King Tupou VI on Thursday, 25 June at the Royal Palace in Nuku’alofa.
HRH Princess Latufuipeka Tuku’aho and Prince Taufa'ahau led the church congregation including FWC President Rev Dr 'Ahio through central Nuku'alofa, accompanied by the FWC secondary schools brass bands.
The colourful presentation in honour of the King and Queen's Coronation included large pigs, yams, cows, fish and turtles with fine Tongan mats and tapa.
The official eight-day Coronation program begins on Saturday, 27 June with the King’s confirmation as the 24th Tu‘i Kanokupolu at a Royal Kava ceremony, the Taumafa Kava, at Mala‘e Pangai Lahi.
The Coronation service and ceremony will be held on Saturday, 4 July at the Centenary Church. The program ends on 7 July with a Military Tattoo.
Between June 27 and July 7 the program also includes military parade, cultural performances and feasting.
