Miss Bou’s Fashion Cassandra Ngaluafe (21) was crowned as Tonga’s new Miss Heilala 2014-15, at Joe’s Kahana Lagoon, last night 11 July 11.
Miss Heilala’s prizes included $5,000 cash and return tickets for two to Los Angeles, as well as other cash prizes for winning the interview and island creation handed out by Hon Fanetupouvava’u Tu’ivakano.
Cassandra is a student at Auckland University of Technology, studying for her Bachelor in Business.
After the crowning, Cassandra said that she was happy and honoured to have won the Miss Heilala title. Cassandra was born and raised in New Zealand.
The first runner up was Miss FISA/MV ‘Otuanga’ofa, Sakae Tamo’ua who received $2,000 with two return tickets to Honolulu.
Miss Universal Pharmacy, Seini Fakatava was the second runner up with $1,000 and two return tickets to Auckland while Miss Super Cheap Tonga, Irene Hurrell won third runner up and $750 cash prize.
The Prime Minister Lord Tu’ivakano and Lady Robyn were also present at the crowning.
Digicel Tonga donated all of the the cash prizes while Fiji Airways provided the air tickets.
