Tonga Power Ltd announces cheaper electricity [1]

Tonga Power has announced a reduction in the price of electricity.

The Electricity Commission approved a new electricity tariff of 91.73 Seniti, a 1.48 Seniti reduction from 93.21 seniti to be effective from March 1.

Tonga Power also credited solar facilities for cheaper electricity, stating that the overall electricity price would have been 95.95 seniti per kWh if solar farm savings did not exist.

The new tariff, 91.73 seniti per kWh applies to all Island groups Tongatapu, Vava’u, Ha’apai and ‘Eua.
