CEO accused in road death [1]

‘Ata’ata Finau (61) the driver charged with reckless driving in relation to the death of a 62-year-old man in Hoi last week was released on bail on February 12.

The accused from Afa appeared at the Nuku'alofa Magistrate's Court and was given bail to appear back in court February 26. He is charged in relation to the death of Kosi Tae (62) of Kolonga who was riding his bicycle on Tangikina Road in Hoi on his way to Kolonga when he was hit by a vehicle. He was rushed to Vaiola Hospital but died on the way. 

The incident was the second road death in Tonga for the year.

The accused is the CEO of the Department of Statistics in Nuku'alofa.
