Twenty-two cruise ships are expected to visit Tonga this year 2014, a growth from the 17 cruise visits made last year.

The Ministry of Tourism stated today that most of the visits will be to Tongatapu (10) and Vava’u (8), while four visits are expected to Tofua and Ha’apai.

The quota for cruise ship visits for 2014 is:
January: Tongatapu (2)
February: Tongatapu (2)
March: Tongatapu (1), Vava’u (1)
April: Tongatapu (2)
May: Vava‘u  (1)
June: Tongatapu (1), Vava’u (1)
August: Vava‘u  (1)
September: Vava‘u  (1), Ha’apai (1), calling at Pangai and Tofua
October: Vava‘u  (1), Tongatapu (1), Tofua (1)
November: Vava‘u (1), Tofua (1)
December: Ha’apai (2), Tongatapu (1)
