Tonga Power announces cheaper electricity for December [1]

Tonga Power Ltd. has announced cheaper tariff rates for the month of December. The new tariff rate for December is 92.82 seniti per kWh, down from 94.45 seniti per kWh (1.63 seniti decrease).

The cheaper rate is largely credited to the Vava’u Solar Farm. Tonga Power Ltd. stated that the power facility contributed to 0.89 seniti of the 1.63 seniti decrease. The additional 0.74 seniti reduction was attributed to an international decline in crude oil prices

The new tariff rate (92.82 seniti per kWh) applies to all island groups.
