Piveni Piukala, who was arrested in Tonga on Monday afternoon, June 27, and detained for questioning on charges of illegally retrieving information from the computer system of his former employer, the Shoreline Group of Companies, was released on bail after mid-day today, June 29.

The Nuku'alofa Supreme Court reported that an application for bail by the defendant's counsel, Clive Edwards, was granted, and Piukala was released on bail of $2,600, to appear in court on Monday July 11.
