Tupou College wilful damage case adjourned to November [1]

The case against 151 accused, including 147 students from Tupou College and four adults charged in relation to the violent attack on a home in Tofoa in July was adjourned to November 18-21.

Magistrate Salesi Mafi adjourned the matter in chambers last week due to an application from the accused counsel.

The Magistrate's Court stated it expected in November, that the prosecution would disclose all its documents to the defence and to the court.

The accused are similarly charged with conspiracy to commit willful damage and unlawful assembly among other charges. The adults, including a Tupou College teacher, two bus drivers and a truck driver, are also facing charges of aiding the criminal damage.

The violent attack at the homeon the night of July 18, 2013 left an ex-student in a coma and a Tonga College student injured.

The accused were released on bail and were initially set to appear at the lower court on October 7-10.
