The two week long music festival, features singing competitions for the Tongatapu Primary schools, in categories ranging from solo singing to duets, trio and group singing, continuing until July 1.

The Miss Heilala Pageant will also begin this week on Saturday June 25 with the inauguration ceremony of the Miss Heilala contestants.

Katri Ha‘unga of the Tonga Visitors Bureau said that 14 contestants had registered for the pageant this year and the beauty competition would begin on July 4 with the Float Parade.

On July 5 the Miss Tau‘’olunga traditional solo dance competition will be held at the Queen Salote Memorial Hall, with the South Pacific Evening Wear competition that will be held on July 7 featuring swimwear, talent quest, contemporary island creations and a stage interview of the Miss Heilala contestants.

The Miss Heilala pageant will end on July 8 with the Crowning of the new Miss Heilala for 2005-06 on the awards night.

Katri said that ‘Eua's Heilala Festival was also being held this week.
