A Senior Commissioned Police Officer has been suspended without pay for two weeks for alleged connection in corrupt activity with criminals.
The Police Commissioner Grant O’Fee said the officer, in his 40’s, was suspended on Thursday, August 22, while an inquiry into the matter continued.
"I would see how the investigation progresses and get more information before I make a decision on how to proceed, whether I should extend the suspension or whatever the options are open to me. But at this stage, I am just looking at disciplinary action and he will not be appearing in court."
He said any allegation of this nature was serious. “I have made it very clear to all my staff if those things are brought to my attention and can be established, there will be consequences,” said the Commissioner.
