New classrooms for Vava‘u Side School [1]

Three new classrooms have been constructed for Vava’u Side School.

The T$209,000 construction project was funded by the Government of Japan as part of its Grant Assistance for grassroots human security projects around the world.

Teachers, parents and students attended the ribbon cutting ceremony and a plaque was unveiled by Guest of Honour, Lord Fulivai. Also attending were the Japanese Ambassador Kazuchika Hamuro, and the Minister for Finance & National Planning Hon. Lisiate ‘Akolo.

The three new classrooms will be occupied by Forms 1 and 2. The project meets one of the goals of Tonga’s Strategic Development Framework, to improve the educational standards of Tongans. The building was constructed by Kiwi Tonga Ltd.
