Sione Moa (27) who is charged with the murder of his first cousin in Neiafu on June 18 has been remanded in police custody until July 14, when he will appear at the Magistrate's Court in Vava'u.

Superintendent Netane Falakiseni the Officer in Charge at the Vava'u Police station said the accused appeared before Magistrate Paula Tatafu on June 18.

He said the victim Siale Tafa Vea'ila (17) of 'Otea died after the accused allegedly struck him on the neck with an axe at the home they both lived in.

The accused is from Neiafu.
