A new Tongan High Commissioner to the United Kingdom has yet to be appointed, following the departure of Dr Ngongo Kioa in December last year, after completing his term.

Dr T. Suka Mangisi the Deputy Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Trade said that First Secretary Sonata Tupou was currently the Acting High Commissioner in London.

He said matters dealing with the European Union in Brussels would continue to be handled by the High Commission in London.

New Zealand

The Tongan Consul in Auckland, New Zealand is Sitafooti 'Aho. (Tonga's High Commission in Wellington was closed down in 2011).

USA

Lord Tuita has recently completed his tour of duty as Tonga's Consul-General to the United States in San Francisco. Consul Sela Tukia is now acting as Consul General.

Ambassador HE Taumopeau-Tupou (Sonatane Tu'akinamolahi) Tonga's current Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York is expected to complete his tour of duty on 1 August. He is also Tonga's Ambassador to the United States, Chile, Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela and the Tongan High Commissioner to Canada.
