A Tongan rugby player was arrested in Japan after an argument with a female professional wrestler in a nightclub district of Tokyo, on Monday, according to a story that ran in Japan's national newspapers this week.

Asahi Newspaper found out that two university rugby players were arrested for assaulting a female professional wrestler (31). The two players are a Tongan national, Vivili Helotu Kei 'Iongi (20), a 2nd year student of Saitama Kogyo University, and a Japanese 18-year-old rugby player of the same university.

The Japanese player is a member of All Japan Rugby team and has been forced to submit his resignation following the incident. As a minor, he was not named.

According to Azabu Police Department, the two hit the face of the female wrestler on a street of Roppongi, a nightclub district, in Tokyo, at around 0:20 am on May 9, and injured her. It is said that the two were drunk and touched the bottom of another female who was with the wrestler and got into an argument.

A university official commented, "We are in a shock. We will try our best to educate them not to repeat the same mistake." The university had submitted a letter of resignation for the 18 year old player to be a Japan representative and the resignation had been accepted. The Japan Rugby Union was not making any comment, saying they did not know the details.

It is understood that 'Iongi from Nukunuku went to Japan on a secondary schools scholarship.
