Kilifi Nau (52) of Ma'ufanga has been further remanded in police custody after he was charged with the murder of his 25-year-old female partner at his home on December 13.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Taniela Faletau said the offender appeared before a Magistrate on Friday morning December 14, and was further remanded in custody.

He said an inquest would be held to determine the cause of death.

The name of the victim has not been released as the investigation continues.

Police reported at about 6:00am on December 13 the offender reported to police that he woke up and found the victim dead in his home.

It is alleged that the offender assaulted the victim on the night of December 12, at their home.
