Tonga Police have not yet confirmed the cause of death of Milan Rindzak (35) the Slovak national whose badly decomposed body was found on 'JeReVe' yacht with over 200kgs of cocaine on 7 November, on an atoll in the Vava'u Group.
Police Commissioner Grant O'Fee said they were still waiting for confirmation on analysis from Australia on the cause of death.
He said the body remained at a morgue in Neiafu, Vava'u until the next kin contacted Tonga Police for arrangements.
"We have not yet received any contact from the next of kin but I hope they make contact soon since we do not want to hold the body indefinitely," he said.
He said the US authorities had advised the next of kin about the death and they were expected to make contact with Tonga Police.
In the meantime the yacht remains wrecked on a reef at Luatafito Atoll in Vava'u.
Police Commissioner O'Fee had previously said Milan's death was unexplained but they did not anticipate any suspicious causes as there were no injuries evident on his body.
