Convair arrives for domestic air service [1]

The Prince Regent, HRH Crown Prince Tupouto'a, was at Fua'amotu International Airport yesterday afternoon, April 28, to welcome the arrival of a 37-seat Convair aircraft of the Peau Vava'u Airways from New Zealand.
Tonga's only domestic airline, the Peau Vava'u, now has three propelled aircraft in its fleet, two DC3s and the Convair.
A small reception was held at the departure lounge of the Fua'amotu International Airport for the Reef Air crew who brought the aircraft from New Zealand and Peau Vava'u employees and friends.
Mosikaka Moengangongo, Project Manager for Peau Vava...u, confirmed yesterday that the Convair would conduct its test flight on April 28 to Vava...u and Ha...apai, and was expected to start its commercial operation between Tongatapu and Vava'u on May 2.
