Three men have been charged with murder in relation to the death of a 44-year-old Nuku'alofa shopkeeper on Friday, June 15.

The Acting Police Commissioner Taniela Faletau said this afternoon that the three men of Asian origin, aged between 32-46 years old, were arrested after police executed a search warrant on their premises in Ma'ufanga yesterday afternoon, June 21.

He said the suspects were each charged with murder and remanded in police custody  until July 2 for their next appearance, under a Magistrate's Court Order.

"At this point of the investigation, no further information will be released as the suspects have been charged and the investigation is ongoing," said the Acting Police Commissioner.
