Tonga's Minister for Labour, Commerce and Industries Hon 'Isileli Pulu will attend the 95th Session of the ACP Council of Ministers and 37th Session of the Joint ACP-EU Council of Ministers Meetings, on June 11-15 in Vanuatu.

The two meetings will be held concurrently in Port Vila and start with the 95th Session of the ACP Council of Ministers Meeting on June 11-13. The second meeting of the 37th Session of the ACP-EU Council of Ministers Meeting will run from June 14-15 and hold plenary sessions of the ACP-EU Council of Ministers.

Hon 'Isileli Pulu, the Spokesperson for the Pacific ACP (African, Caribbean and Pacific) group will lead the Tongan delegation to Vanuatu. Traveling with him are the Secretary for Labour, Commerce and Industries, Tatafu Moeaki, Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Mahe'uli'uli Tupouniua, and officials from the Ministry of Finance.

Trade

Some of the key items on the agenda for the ACP-EU Council Meeting include trade cooperation, migration, development, and an updates on EPA, the Economic Partnership Agreements negotiations, and Ministerial Consultations and Committee reports on banana, sugar and cotton.

ACP Group

The African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP) is an organisation created by the Georgetown Agreement in 1975 and comprise of 79 African, Caribbean and Pacific states, 48 countries from Sub-Saharan Africa, 16 from the Caribbean and 15 from the Pacific.
