Secondary schools in Tonga facilitate school fees payments from overseas [1]

Five secondary schools in Tonga have joined a service that will allow parents and relatives in Australia and New Zealand to pay school fees directly to the schools.

In a statement today, Digicel Tonga said that Tonga High School, Queen Salote College, Apifo'ou College, St Andrew's High School and Tonga College 'Atele had registered for Digicel’s Mobile Money service.

Transfers are sent through agents and by logging on to the company's website.

Digicel launched mobile services in the region in Samoa 2006 and now operates in Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu, Nauru and Papua New Guinea.
