With just over two months before a new structure of the Tonga Government is implemented on 1 July, 2012, it is now proposed there will be 14 line Ministries, which will include a new Ministry of Revenue.

A spokesperson from the Public Service Commission office said this morning, that Revenue will be a separate Ministry, following an amendment decision to the restructure made by Cabinet in January, this year.

That same decision also saw the inclusion of Tonga's Electricity Commission under the four agencies that will report to a Minister.

The proposed structure now includes 14 Ministries:
1. Ministry of Foreign Afffairs and Trade
2. Prime Minister's Office
3. Ministry of Finance and National Planning;
4. Ministry of Revenue
5. Ministry of Public Enterprises
6. Ministry of Internal Affairs
7. Ministry of Justice
8. Ministry of Police, Prisons & Fire Services
9. Ministry of Health
10. Ministry of Education & Training
11. Ministry of Commerce and Tourism
12. Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Forests & Fisheries
13. Ministry of Infrastructure
14. Ministry of Lands, Environment, Climate Change & Natural Resources
