Tongan by-election confirmed for May 5 [1]

The Tongan By-Election to elect four new members of Parliament, will be held on May 3 for the Nobles, and May 5 for the People.

The Supervisor of Election Pita Vuki, confirmed today that the registration of candidates for the by-election will be on April 14, and the registration feewill be $200.

Two Nobles Representatives, one for Tongatapu and another for ...‘Eua; and two People Representatives, one for Tongatapu and one for the Niuas will be chosen in the by-election to replace the new members who have been made Ministers.

As with the General Election there is no registration of the Nobles and no registration fees.
