ONE of the four male suspects, charged in relation to the armed hold up at the Asco Petrol Station on Fatafehi Road on January 6, has been charged with six counts, including attempted murder and causing grevious bodily harm.

Sefo Moala appeared in the Magistrate Court at Fasi today, January 23, charged with six counts of attempted murder, causing grevious bodily harm, possession of illegal firearms, possession of illegal ammunition and conspiracy to armed robbery.

Three co-offenders namely Sione Angilau, Meli Moala and Fale'ofa Ta'ufo'ou were each charged with one count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

The men aged in their 30's were living at Pahu and Mataika in Kolofo'ou, Fangaloto and Veitongo when they were arrested on January 12 and January 16, after police executed search warrants.

Magistrate Similoni Tu'akalau ordered that the four suspects be further remanded in police custody because of the seriousness of the crimes they committed. He also accepted Police Prosecutor Mema Latu's submission that the four men be kept in custody because their work has not been completed. The four suspects were ordered to appear again in court eight days from today.

During the armed hold-up a 53-year-old male supervisor was shot in the leg, and he is still recovering at Vaiola Hospital.
