LOLOAHI Tapui of Leimatu'a, Vava'u, the former housekeeper for British Attorney General Baroness Scotland was found guilty for fraud, possessing a false identity document and overstaying her student visa, when she appeared in a Southwark Crown Court in London on April 9.

British media reported that Loloahi (28) would be sentenced on May 7 and is facing up to 10 years in prison and possible deportation back to Tonga.

The jury of eight men and four men who took less than 90 minutes to deliver their verdict agreed that Loloahi knew she had overstayed her student visa and tricked the Chief Law Officer into hiring her as her housekeeper.

She was found guilty of fraud, possessing a false identity document and overstaying her student visa, but was cleared on the charge of possessing false identity documents with intent.

Independent News reported that should Loloahi receive more than 12 months imprisonment sentence, the judge could decide that she should automatically be deported.

The case had caused much embarrassment to Baroness Scotland after Loloahi's illegal status was revealed in September last year which resulted in the Baroness fined with £5,000 for breaching employment rules.

The Attorney General in her evidence in court said that Loloahi is married to Alex Zivancevic a lawyer who spoke with an English accent.

"It never crossed her mind that a lawyer in this country would be married to an illegal immigrant and then pass her off as a cleaner to the Attorney General. You would have to be brain dead to do such a thing like that."

Tapui had initially sold her story to the Mail on Sunday for £95,000, with PR guru Max Clifford taking £19,000 commission.

Following her guilty verdict Loloahi was granted bail but is electronically tagged.
