Manslaughter sentencing adjourned to March 31 [1]

The sentencing of Nakita Folau Tu'itavake for manslaughter that was set for today, March 9, at the Nuku'’alofa Supreme Court was adjourned by Chief Justice Robin Webster to March 31. Tu'itavake's lawyer, Laki Niu was ill and was unable to be in court.

Chief Justice Webster renewed Tu'itavake's bail until he passes his sentence on March 31.

Tu'itavake was found guilty of manslaughter by a jury of seven at the Nuku'’alofa Supreme Court on February 24, following the stabbing death of Semisi Mau in 2003.
