Man found dead at 'Eua plantation [1]

A 48-year-old man from Angaha was found dead in his plantation in 'Eua on Wednesday, May 12 after his family reported him missing on the same day, according to Tonga Police today.
Deputy Police Commander Taniela Faletau in its Weekly Crime Report said that police searched for the man after his family reported him missing on the evening of May 12. Police and members of the family found him dead at 11:30pm that night.
He said an inquest into his death conducted on May 13 confirmed the cause of death to be cardiac arrest. There were also no injuries or suspicious circumstances associated with the death, he said.
Crimes
Meanwhile crimes reported in Tonga last week from May 10-16 had increased to 63 in comparison to the 36 recorded the week before.
The Deputy Commander highlighted theft as the most prevalent crime with 23 cases, followed by 17 assaults, 11 housebreakings and three wilful damages.
One of the theft cases took place in Vava'u where 200 kava plants were uprooted and stolen from a plantation last week. Police are still carrying out investigation.
Meanwhile, Nuku'alofa Cental Police station recorded the most criminal offences with 42 cases followed by eight reported at Mu'a, three at Nukunuku, two at Houma, one at Pangai, three at Neiafu, two at Leimatu'a and in 'Eua.
