Rev Dr 'Ahio elected FWC President [1]

Rev Dr 'Ahio has been elected for the second time as the President of the Free Wesleyan Church of Tonga during the 87th Free Wesleyan Church Annual Conference at the Centenary Church, Saione.

Rev Dr 'Ahio was confirmed to the position by HM King George Tupou V during the opening of Annual Conference of the church on Thursday June 24, 2010.

He was elected for the first time as President last year, succeeding former President Rev Dr 'Alifeleti Mone who retired after 11 years of leading the church.

Rev Dr Tevita Havea was elected as the FWC Secretary, for the second year.

The conference continued this week with feasting held at the Akoteu School grounds, and attended by church representatives from throughout Tonga, with many visiting from New Zealand, Australia, the United States, and other Pacific Islands.

The conference ends in Nuku'alofa on July 1 with a night of choral singing at Saione.
