Vava'u High School celebrates Silver Jubilee [1]

Vava'u High School is celebrating its 25th Anniversary over four days of festivities that began on July 4.
A devotion service, led by the Minister of Education, Hon. Dr Tevita Palefau was held at the Free Wesleyan Church, Laumalie Ma'oni'oni, in Neiafu, attended by Hon Frederica Tuita, the guest of honour, ex-students, friends and relatives, some of whom came from overseas for the celebration. The first hymn was read by Tanginoa Tukuafu, president of the Vava'u ex-students; first scripture reading by Tokilupe Moa, Dux 1987; second scripture reading by Lesielli Manu, one of the pioneering teachers of Vava'u High School. The third scripture reading was by Dr 'Alani Tangitau, Dux of 1990. The fourth scripture reading was by Tevita Ma'u, a former principal, and the second hymn was read by Edwina Tangitau, a Head Prefect; the third hymn was read by Toakase Tutoe, a student and the dedication prayer was by Rev Talanoa Sekeni.
The service was followed by a feast hosted by the students and ex-students of the Neiafu District at the school's Nipon rugby field.
