Contestants  for Tonga's Galaxy Queen Pageant 2010 lived up to the pageant's reputation of creating colourful fantastic costumes, making their first appearance at the Four Seasons Resort, 'Umusi on Wednesday July 7.

The night kicked off with the introduction of the nine contestants who were to be judged on three categories, the Red Coloured Creation, Own Creation and Recycle Wear.

Balancing on super high heels, contestants modeled fantastic hot red gowns of their own creation outfits made from a wide selection of material, ranging from fine mats and tapa to feathers and leaves.

The fun night concluded with the recycle wear that featured creative yet hilarious outfits made from beer labels and even number plates.

On Thursday July 8 the contestants will be judged on three more categories, the International Wear, Galaxy Wear and Reproductive Health.

On Friday July 9, the final night contestants will be judged on their talent, formal wear and stage interview, with the crowing of the new Miss Galaxy Queen 2010-11. The evening marks the launching of the Tonga Leitis' Association first Strategic Plan 2010-15.

The reigning Miss Galaxy Queen 2009-10 Miss Thumbelina could not attend the pageant since she was tied up with other engagements in the United States.
