Queen Salote College Bazaar raises $55,000 [1]

QUEEN Salote College's annual bazaar held on Saturday September 11 collected over $55,000 pa'anga after attracting crowds eager to buy the quality handicrafts made by the students.
QSC Deputy Principal Mele Taulanga said at the conclusion of the bazaar after nearly three hours of sale, the all girls' school collected $55,357 pa'anga and the most sought after items were the ta'ovala and kiekie.
She said they were immensely happy with the success of their annual fundraising event.
Other popular items included brooms and baskets of traditional Tongan food with yams and pork.
Mele said the money collected this year, was similar to the amount collected at the bazaar last year.
The Queen Mother Halaevalu Mata'aho opened the bazaar and was also the first to view the items on sale.
