Fire guts Le 'Alavina Lodge [1]

Le 'Alavina Lodge gutted by fire early this morning.

A fire gutted a Neiafu holiday lodge early this morning but the occupants escaped the blaze.

The Le 'Alavina Lodge at Hala Fatefehi, Fungamisi, caught fire at about 5 am on September 18.

A receptionist at the Puataukanave Hotel, next door to the Le 'Alavina Lodge, said that the occupants of the lodge, a German couple and the owner, 'Alavina, escaped the fire unharmed but had lost most of their belongings, including the German couple's passports.

The cause of the fire is not known, and the police have yet to release a report on the fire.
