At the launching ceremony Lupi said Faite is a 32 pages colour newspaper and with so many issues about women they could only do so much, but their goal is to reach out to women in all walks of life.

"Whether you are a businesswoman, civil servant, politician, market vendor, handicraft seller, housewife or single mother trying to make ends meet with their income, we like to think that 'Faite' is a source of empowerment of women."

The content of the first issue was dedicated to women in the community, such as Sr Keiti Ann of the Catholic Church, and featured articles on women from Vava'u who share experiences about their source of living.

The Editor said in future their issues would vary to cover culture, health, child and maternal care, the environment, Tongan music, compositions and cooking. At the same they invited experts or relevant people to contribute articles.

Printed in Nuku'alofa by JR Web Press the newspaper is to be distributed fortnightly in Tongatapu. The first issue was free and printed about 3,00 copies. The second one would cost around $1 pa'anga.

The guests of honour were Hon Lupepau'u Tuita and Hon Frederica Tuita.
