TIHE awards for higher education [1]

TONGA'S second Media and Journalism Diploma and Certificate graduates received their Certificates and Diplomas from the Tonga Institute of Higher Education on December 2 at the Queen Salote Memorial Hall.

Hon Frederica Tuita, the guest of honour at the 14th combined awards ceremony for the Ministry of Education's Higher Education that included Tonga Institute of Higher Education (TIHE) programs and the Tonga Institute of Education diploma program, presented the awards.

TIHE offers a range of certificate and diploma courses that includes Information Technology Program, the Accounting Program, and the Media and Journalism Program.

Journalism

Six graduated in the Media and Journalism Program, two who completed their diploma program were Silia Soakai and Malia 'Ulupano; while four received their certificates, Marian Kupu, Kilisitina Hakaumotu, Linda Teisina and 'Ana Uili.

A total of 77 students graduated with Certificate and Diploma from TIHE including 35 graduates in computer/IT; 36 in accounting; and six in the Media and Journalism program.

The combined awards ceremony concluded the 2010 school year for all schools in Tonga.
