THE Supervisor of Elections Pita Vuki returned the results of the Writ of Election to the King on Thursday, December 2 after the recount time frame for candidates ended.

Pita Vuki told Matangi Tonga Online on December 3 that he handed over the Writ of the Election containing the election results to Lord Chamberlain Viela Tupou's office on Thursday night.

He said there were two letters one for the Noble's Election results and the other was the result of the General Election on Thursday, November 25.

"We waited for the recount period to close yesterday, December 2 before we returned the writ of the elections to the king," he said.

The only candidate who requested a recount was Siosaia Moehau for Tongatapu 6. His results remained the same falling behind four votes from leading candidate Siosifa Tu'utafaiva.

Pita said all candidates were required to submit to him their statement of expenses for their campaign by Thursday, December 9, 2010.
