Qantas Boeing 744 makes emergency landing at Nadi [1]

A Qantas Boeing 744 flying from Sydney to Los Angeles on December 18 was forced to make an emergency landing at Nadi International Airport at 8:21pm when one of its engines failed and hour out of Nadi.
None of the 397 passengers were injured, and all were billeted into hotels around Nadi for the night. A replacement Qantas 747 aircraft was flown in and resumed the flight to Los Angeles yesterday morning.
A statement issued by Airports Fiji Ltd said that engineers were repairing the engine on the 744 and when repairs were completed it would be flown back to Sydney.
