Attempted robbery trial adjourned [1]

THE trial of a 42-year-old man charged for attempted robbery in a shooting at the Yellow Pier wharf in Nuku'alofa last April, is adjourned for two weeks.
The trial was scheduled to start on February 2 before Chief Justice Hon Michael Dishington Scott was adjourned due to illness of the defence counsel, Sione Kengike.
The accused Penisimani Angilau who remains remanded in police custody is charged with three counts of attempted robbery, causing bodily harm and carrying a firearm with the intention to harm.
In the early morning of April 9, three men and a woman were in a vehicle at the wharf when the armed man threatened them with a .22 rifle demanding their wallets.
The three men tried to overcome the assailant one of them was shot, but luckily the bullet only grazed his chest. He was treated at Vaiola Hospital and discharged on the same day.
