Today is the beginning of the 2005 school year for all the Tongan Government's primary schools, high schools and tertiary institutions.
Some of the most excited school children today were the Class 1 students of the Tonga Side School arriving at their new temporary school at Pahu .
Tonga Side School staff said that they were relocated to the Community Development Training Centre, Pahu, from their old school compound adjacent to the Tonga High School compound, because of building work in going on in the area, but they will return to their old school when the Tonga High School campus is completed in March.
Government schools should have started yesterday but schools were closed due to stormy wet weather brought by Cyclone Lola.
