The Rotary Club of Nuku'alofa raised nearly $5,000 pa'anga at its 9th Annual Children's Fun Fair on Saturday April 30 at the Akoteu Grounds in Nuku'alofa.

Rotary Club members, friends, and sponsors provided a variety of entertainment stalls, activities and prizes for children of all ages.

Big attractions at the fair were the Dunking Pool and the Jumping Castle. Other activities included drawing and colouring stalls, face painting, zumba aerobics and dancing.

A raffle was also held with 30 prizes given out totaling over $3,000 pa'anga, sponsored by Nuku'alofa businesses.

Treasurer, Frank funds raised would go towards maintenance and extension of equipment at the Children's Playground at Fa'onelua Park.

He said this year's fair reflected the difficult economic situation in Tonga today but they achieved what they aimed for, in order to continue the maintenance of the playground.

Nuku'alofa businesses, banks and volunteers from Tonga's National Youth Congress, Peace Corps, Australian and JICA joined in supporting the annual event.

Frank said at least 600 children accompanied by their parents enjoyed the fair that began at 10pm to 3pm on April 30.
