New President for Chamber of Commerce [1]

Aloma Johansson was elected as the new President of the Tonga Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (TCCI) this evening, at its Annual General Meeting in Nuku'alofa.
Aloma is the longest serving member of the Chamber executive, having served seven consecutive years in different positions, including as Treasurer and most recently as Vice President.
She is a chartered public accountant and also the Honorary Consul of Sweden to Tonga. Her father, the late Albin Johansson, was a former President of the TCCI.
"We will do our very best to ensure that the concerns that the private sector have are going to heard," she said. "I am confident that the new council are going to be working as a team."
Aloma succeeds Paula Taumoepeau who remains on the executive as an Immediate Past President. Paula noted that most of the council members this year are new.
The 2011 council executive and members are:
President Aloma Johansson, Vice President Tevita Kaitu'u Fotu, Secretary Tricia Emberson, Assitant Secretary Kathryn Keki, Treasurer Suliana Afu, Assistant Treasurer George Nakao; Council members Kisione Tupou, Edgar Cocker, Paul Stafford and 'Atalua Falekaono, and Legal Advisor Dana Stephenson.
