Ten lucky mothers in Tongatapu won over $5,000 worth of new home appliances in celebration of Mothers Day, thanks to Western Union.

The CEO of Fund Management Ltd;, Robina Nakao, in giving out the prizes for the raffle winners on May 13, said that Western Union had always celebrated Mothers Day, but this year they wanted to create excitement and brought ten gifts for their ten raffle winners. Anyone who used the Western Union service from May 2-7 went into the draw on May 10.

Eight winners from Tongatapu and one each from Ha'apai and Vava'u, collected a Masport weekender barbeque, a 180lt fridge, a lawn mower, a 108lt freezer, a 8kg twintub washing machine, a 4-burner gas stove with oven, a 21 inch TV, a super size rubbish bin and a microwave oven.

Winners were Haiti Tautua'a from Lavengatonga, Asena Helu of Pahu, Mele Malupo of Ha'apai, Soana Langi of Nukuleka, 'Ofa Tauese of Vava'u, Kilisitina Anasi of Longoteme, Se'epa Vaka of Tofoa, Taufa Tanaki of Houmakelikao, Senimili Leha of Malapo and 'Amelia Tuitu'u of Toloa.
