THE Free Church of Tonga opened a new church complex at Vaini on Saturday, May 14 officiated by Lord Ma'afu and attended by hundreds of church members from throughout Tonga and abroad.

Project Manager Rev Viliami Sisifa of Kiwi Tonga Ltd. said the construction of the new church took 10 months including the renovation of the old church compound, a new church hall and renovation of the church residence. The church is 32m long and 21m wide with new parking spaces and a driveway.

He said the total cost was well within $904,000 pa'anga, funds raised and donated by church members in Tonga and from abroad.

Vaini residents joined the church members in the celebration, said Viliami.
