Tonga's official Foreign Reserves held by the National Reserve Bank increased by $1.9 million in December 2004 to $93.4 million, an amount equivalent to 5.9 months of imports of goods.

A Press Release from the National Reserve Bank reported that the Reserve movements result from the foreign exchange operations that the National Reserve Bank carries out with the commercial banks and with the Government of Tonga.

Tonga...’s Foreign Reserve 12 months ago on December 2003 was $56.7 million, an amount equivalent to 3.4 months of imports.
