The latest fashion for fakaleitis was showcased at the Rising Queenz Fashion Show on June 24, with eight local designers presenting a range of colourful and outrageous outfits, modelled by fakaleitis on a catwalk at the Queen Salote Memorial Hall.

Cruella Devillee, one of the fashion show creators said this was the second year showcasing the talents of the young fakaleiti's in designing clothes and hairstyles. This year's event featured categories, the Red Creation, Lady Gaga, Outfit Creation and Island Creation Design.

"This event is also part of our annual fundraising events to finance our various projects that includes paying for some of our young fakaleiti's education," said Cruella.

Winners in the three categories received $300 each: Island Creation won by Cruella's Creation; Red Creation - a tie between Cruella's creation and Mariah's ; Lady Gaga creation a three-way tie for Cruella's Creation, Fatima's Creation and Mara's creation.

The show organised by a Rising Queenz Committee chaired by Fonua Tupou, aims to travel to Auckland at the end of the year.
